Specifications

Condenser Coils

Our condenser coils are designed for the high pressure and temperature associated with refrigeration condensing and the outdoor environment. Attention to thermal expansion, vibration and strong brazed joints help ensure durability. Various fin and tube combinations provide design flexibility. Wide fin spacing is available to minimize dirt and dust build-up. Optional corrosion-resistant materials and protective coatings help increase the service life of the coil.

Our designs function in condensing or heat reclaim applications, and can be engineered to work with many of the new and special refrigerants, including ammonia, R-123 and R-410A. Condenser coils are available in single and multi-stage designs, and with enhanced fin and tube surfaces to increase thermal performance. These coils are also available with UL, CSA and ETL listing or ASME, CRN and CE certifications.

Refrigerant Evaporator Coils

Super Radiator Coils offers refrigerant evaporators covering a multitude of applications. They range from comfort cooling to ultra-low/cryogenic temperatures, to all stainless steel for solvent recovery or all aluminum for food processing. We can work with a wide variety of standard and special refrigerants (including ammonia, R-123, R-508B and R-410A) to meet almost any application requirements.

Our many fin surfaces, tubes sizes, and thermal enhancements allow designs that maximize a coils heat transfer and minimize its weight and refrigerant charge. Optional wide spaced or staged fins handle surface frost. Multiple and interlaced coil circuiting allow for levels of cooling control.

Evaporator coils come with distributors and headers properly sized and located for the specific application. Most of these coils are available with UL, CSA and ETL listing.. Ammonia evaporator, flooded and recirculation type coils are available with 5/8" and 7/8" OD tubes and optional hot dipped galvanized coating.

Specialty Coils

Super Radiator Coils has built custom coils since 1928. Our knowledge base, experience and manufacturing capabilities have grown, allowing us to deliver what a customers' application requires...no matter how special. Our diverse staff of engineers has the ingenuity and expertise to provide thermal solutions and coil designs for difficult applications. We can build coils in special "V", "A", "L", "U" and circular shapes, or form parallelogram fin bundles. The coil can have exotic materials, be provided with unusual/complex header and connection arrangements, and have multiple coils in the same casing. Also we can accommodate coils requiring special handling, cleaning and leak testing.

We offer many options for coil durability, longevity, ease of installation and maintenance. Our engineers can help design coils for extreme operating and environment conditions. Our facilities have the ability to quickly reproduce, or improve on an existing special coil design. See our "Applications " page for a partial list of custom and special coils Super Radiator Coils has built.

Fluid Coils

Our type 5CW chilled water and 5HW hot water coils, designed for comfort conditioning, have been extensively tested and the operating performance certified to ARI standards. Coils requiring an assurance of strength for domestic and foreign markets, can be built, inspected and stamped to the ASME code.

For replacement coils or those needing to fit specific dimensions, our wide range of coil and tube sizes, fin spacing, and coil connection orientations allow for a drop-in coil fit. Other features can be added to further simplify installation and piping. Special options such as removable water boxes and removable frames can make the coil easily serviceable for cleaning, inspection or repair.

Steam Coils

We offer basic and heavy duty designs for difficult steam applications. Our Steam Distributing (SD) and Standard Steam (STD) coils are fabricated from copper tubes with copper or aluminum fins (other materials are available). They are suitable for steam pressures up to 150 PSIG and designed for a variety of heating and drying applications.
  • Our Steam Distributing (Non-Freeze) coil is ideal to handle low pressure steam that is being modulated and/or if the air entering the coil is below freezing.
  • Our Standard Steam coil is designed to handle large amounts of steady steam and provide quick condensate removal.
  • Our 5SS Steam coil product line has thermal performance that is ARI certified.
  • Our Super Steam products offer additional cost savings and quick delivery where a specific overall coil size and construction are not critical.

  • Custom and heavy duty steam coils can be built to withstand steam pressures of 300 psig or higher. Strong cupro-nickel, carbon steel, or stainless steel materials are available. Coils may have 5/8", 7/8", and 1" outside diameter tubes and wall thickness of up to .109". Fin thickness can range up to .020" on certain materials. Larger OD and/or thicker wall tubes may be available with the optional helically finned tube line.

Our steam coils accommodate thermal expansion and contraction for long fin lengths and/or high temperature/pressure applications. Each can be built for various connection and mounting orientations, and with or without tube pitch. Optional ASME, CRN and CE certifications are available for both brazed and welded coil construction
